The space community joke that dinosaurs went extinct because they lacked a space program. Ironically the same might be said of us by any successors if we refuse the challenge of space. Alternately if we accept that challenge...shining new vistas open up for humanity; technological, cultural and physiological.

Battle for Space

The space budget should increase substantially in the coming years to facilitate space settlement on the moon, Mars and Earth orbit. Hence space will become a political target for anyone who believes the money’s better spent elsewhere. Arguably this battle has already begun with additional funding requested for the Mars program, and the clamor will likely increase inline with the budget, as we approach the midterm and presidential elections. Essentially space is an easy target because few understand or acknowledge its strategic significance to our existence.

Succinctly: Space is our destiny, Earth is our fate.
